How to turn off the Grid Icon on the Desktop on Windows 10


The presence of icons (/ Shortcut ) on the operating system (be it Windows, Linux, or MacOS), especially on the main page of the system (commonly referred to as Desktop ), aims to make it easier for users to find and access the desired file efficiently and easily. The icon modification feature that we can use thoroughly, from changing the icon image to changing the size of the icon itself.

On the main page of the system (especially on the Windows operating system), the Icon Grid  feature has been applied  since the initial release of Windows 1.0, where each icon placed on the system page will automatically be neatly arranged and does not fill the main system page. Of course we can turn off this feature in order to freely modify the location of our icons.

In this article, we will try to turn off the grid icon feature on the Windows 10 operating system.

Step:

1. Before turning off the related features, make sure that we are currently on the main (/ Desktop ) system page.

2. To turn off the related feature, press the right button on our mouse . Later, we will be given general settings around the Desktop page. Then, select the View option (the location of the related options can be seen in the image below) to enter the settings related to the main page display.

3. In the related option, make sure that the Align icons to grid option is not checked (/ active) . To disable this option, simply press the option through our system page.

4. After deactivating the related options, each icon on the main page can be moved as freely as possible, without any obstruction from the previously activated grid system . Meanwhile, we can provide our own creation of the positioning of our icons, according to the shape and symbol that we want to make.
